I have recurring dreams about the first house my husband and I lived in, which he originally owned with his ex. In every dream we are remodeling the house in some way. Certain aspects of the home stay the same, like the fact his ex and son remodeled the basement into several rooms and bathrooms and run it like a gym, even though we live there now.

5 or 6 years ago, I had this dream where it was the middle of the night. I went down two flights of stair to the basement of my house for no reason. I was halfway down the hallways in the basement when I started to hear thumping sounds. It was quiet at first, but then it gradually got louder and louder. I could feel the sound behind, as if it was breathing on me. So finally I turned around, suddenly my environment was bright, like really really bright. The dream took place in my house were it was pitch black but every once in a while the lights would flicker and i could see the walls which were covered in red. Then i started to walk out of my room and towards a sound coming from the basement. When i got to the basement door and put my hand on the knob the noise stopped.
