Dream of

I had a dream last night about my little pet dog went outside first thing in the morning and at the bottom of the stairs I saw a larger animal grab my dog by the front leg and drag him away..I could hear my pet barking for a long time. My husband started to run after him but could not go far. He said there were cops down there....My pet was still barking then suddenly one last yelp and there was no more.....What meaning does this have...
