I was back at a previous job (that I left for a new job over a year ago) and a stranger (woman) told me, "They are letting you go" as she laughed. I went to the manager and she said "I always liked you so I will give you time to find something but just a short time (I felt it was like 2 weeks) and then I felt relieved and OK.
