Dream of mother

In my dream I was in a supermarket with my mother when i noticed that my big toenail was growing in width, and when I reached to feel it the sides started to detach from my toe. I picked at the side and the whole nail fell off. I'm not sure what this means, lately I've had my ex contact me dealing with some serious emotional issues; I'd like to know if the two relate in any way.
