Interpretation of the dream in psychological terms How, then, can one find the personal meaning of blood in a dream? Sigmund Freud, along with his reference to the symbolic meanings, suggested that the dream is "the king's way to the unconscious" since it reveals unconscious and inaccessible contents in ignorance. To prevent the awakening of too much anxiety, the mind disguises the dream by various means including condensation, displacement, symbolization and so on. To decipher the dream and the meanings behind the camouflage, Freud suggested that one should look at the dreamer's spontaneous associations and decipher through them the personal meaning that a particular element has for the dreamer. For example, a man who dreamed that his boss was cut from a glass of a door, described in associations to a dream that as a child he was cut by crises of a glass that his father dropped and needed several stitches. For this dreamer, the appearance of blood in the dream symbolized feelings of anger and aggression towards the father. In contrast, the appearance of blood in a dream symbolized for a girl who began to recover from prolonged dealing with anorexia the appearance of menstruation, which symbolized an improvement in her physical condition. What does a recurring blood dream mean? The recurrence of blood in a dream, similar to the repetition of other elements in dreams, means that our mind is trying to process a particular subject or unconscious content is trying to rise to our consciousness. However, in some cases the recurring appearance of blood in a dream, accompanied by a feeling of fear and discomfort, is in some cases associated with an anxiety disorder known as blood phobia and manifests itself in excessive and extreme fear of blood appearance or blood-related situations (e.g. blood tests, injections). People dealing with a blood phobia may be intensely preoccupied with blood both when awake and in their dreams. How to deal with recurring blood dreams? The way to deal with recurring dreams is to try to understand their personal meaning and the emotional causes of their recurrence. As mentioned, the recurrence of blood in a dream often marks the mind's attempts to draw our attention to an unresolved issue or conflict. Accordingly, the best way to deal with recurring dreams about blood is to listen to the dream and try to decipher it. It is important to note that in case the recurrence of blood in the dream appears as part of a state of blood phobia - it is important to also treat the dream as part of an anxiety disorder which is recommended to be treated through cognitive-behavioral therapy.

Meaning of rats in a dream

What do dreams about this subject mean? Before determing what your rat dream means, you must first ask yourself what you associate with rats, says O'Connor. Are you afraid of them or do you think they're cute? "Rats are seen by many people as pests that carry disease or cause other problems so they have many negative connotations," she notes. "Yet rats are also survivors, able to withstand harsh environments and highly intelligent. The meaning will evolve from both your association with the qualities of rats as well as what is going on in your current life." What can I learn about myself from dreaming about rats? "The first thing to think about is whether you or someone you know is behaving unethically in a situation in your life," suggests O'Connor. "You often hear the expression that someone is a 'rat,' meaning he is untrustworthy or has betrayed someone." Alternatively, a rat in your dream could represent feeling like you're caught in a maze somewhere in your daily life. Are there any tricks to avoiding or inducing dreams about this subject? If you fear rats, set the intention of waking up in a dream if a rat appears. "This is a technique known as lucid dreaming," she says. "In a lucid dream, you can notice you are dreaming and take control of the dream events and overcome your fears." If you want to dream about rats, then visualize rats before falling asleep. Beyond analysis, what cultural symbolism can be found in dreams about rats? "In Chinese culture, the first symbol of the zodiac is a rat and people born in a rat year are said to possess the positive qualities, including creativity and intelligence, of a rat," explains O'Connor. "In Hindu tradition, rats are associated with the god Ganesh, who is worshiped as the remover of obstacles. In some Native American traditions, rats are symbols of survival and lack of fear." Dreamers from these various cultural traditions may find a different meaning from those in a traditional western culture. Who tends to have dreams about this subject most frequently? According to O'Connor, rat dreams do not affect one swath of the population more than another. Does it mean anything if the rat is dead in my dream? Dreaming about a dead rat may mean you're overwhelmed or frightful about a situation in your real life. It could also represent letting go of a relationship, especially if that relationship involves betrayal. "In that case, the dream is letting you know that the situation has come to an end," notes O'Connor.

5/26/26, 4:56 am Last night before going to sleep I asked God for dreams to show me something in the spirit realm... Anything He wanted to show me... The dream I had was about "masking personalities and swapping destines" or something like that... I remember seeing Duke there (my daughter's younger brother, from another mother that I helped raise his first few years of life), or having swapped into his personality or something... The dream was intensely vivid, but all over the place and a little confusing... It was more like being in the spirit realm than just a dream message... There were multiple parts to the dream, but it was like jumping from portal to portal in the dream... The first part with masking personalities was like, being in a family at someone's house... In order to be in the family we did some kind of personality spirit swap. It was more than just masking but that's how it started until we/our spirits literally transitioned into the other person's body... I was in one of the other child siblings' bodies... There were evil people in the family that we were trying to hide from and protect ourselves by swapping identities. It's how we kept the evil people from identifying us and finding us, from locating us. Then we needed to swap back into ourselves and it was like we became stuck in these other vessels, but it was killing our spirit... We were slowly suffocating inside that person's body until our spirits were dead and we fully embodied this other person ... Kind of like in the movie Ghost. The way we got out of this body was by remembering something genuine about who we were before we swapped or jumped into the other person's body. We had to remember something specific about our original personality and say it out loud and enact it... I specifically kept remembering D'Ana's younger brother Duke and myself... I remembered I was a fun quirky girl, unbothered by people... He started to remember he was a sweet and kind little boy full of light and love. Then we started swapping into our own bodies again... But the dream was extremely jerky... As if I was literally gasping for air in my sleep as I was being transported from body to body trying to find my own as I watched this family scene from multiple other people's bodies... Then I was in some sort of a fight scene but it was more mystical or fantastical. Like I was roaming the streets of some other world and there were lions and wolves roaming about. As well as these ninja type looking guys that were looking for a fight. No matter who I walked by everyone or every animal wanted to fight. But I knew what was coming before it happened, so I was able to see in the spirit the move or strike that was coming next each time and I was able to block it or counter act it. At one point there was 1 lion that saw me and came to attack me. Somehow instead of running I was ready to face it, even if I was going to be wounded by it. I had a knife in my hand and I fought off each of its paw strikes that it tried to slash me with. It backed off but then a group of lions came to attack me. The first one was all scrawny, thin, dried out, slightly discolored or dark, moved slow. The next group of lions were still scrawny but were bright blond colored, almost like a glowing white color. They all came at once and somehow instead of being over taken out eaten by them I fought them all off in hand-to- paw combat until they got tired of me and left. The whole dream was like that. Everything or everyone that came to fight me couldn't win. I didn't necessarily beat them to a pulp, but I out lasted them and countered everyone of their attacks, until they got weary and left me alone. Then I woke up.
